Also, the advice Rei was going to give, absolutely laughed out loud, oh my goodness. Plus, we get to see Rei, Nagisa, and Gou, so that’s always a plus. When they meet at the club again, I enjoyed this scene a lot because of how humorous and lighthearted it was. Also, I enjoyed how Makoto understood the hints. He truly didn’t want to be around him, and you can totally tell by all the faces he was making, and the subtle hints he was telling Makoto. I don’t think Haru has ever been so annoyed by someone as much as he was by this guy. The pink and orange hues mixed so well, absolutely amazing. Take a look at that.Īh, just all the colors in this scene were lovely. I’m always very appreciative of scenes with wonderful animation, so yeah. This scene was kind of dull, but the animation here was definitely on point. We hear about what happened with Hayato, how he hates to swim, and blah, blah, blah. Other than that, it’s KyoAni doing what they’re best at: Cute girls doing cute things… Except it’s Makoto doing cute things, hehe. We hardly see any of the club members, other than Haru, who you’re going to see no matter what, and a bit of Rei, Nagisa, and Gou, when he’s at practice. Most of the show was Makoto and being the coach of the small kids and what not. If there is anything I can say about this episode, is that it was 70% filler, 30% exposition. Kisumi is also an interesting character, but don’t expect him to come out more often. We get hints at how Makoto can somewhat relate to him, back in season one and his whole little dilemma. He’s the brother of Hayato, the young boy who doesn’t enjoy swimming. I don’t know, he has this charm to him that I enjoyed. His name is Kisume, and he’s an absolute cutie pie. It’s the guy Rei and Rin were fighting about with the whole pronouncing thing in last week’s preview. Then someone walks through the door, oh my gosh, who can it be? Skipping ahead, we have Makoto coaching the kids, and one of them in particular does not look like they enjoy swimming, When confronting the boy, he ends up telling him that he actually hates swimming. I’ll leave talking about the next scene for later, because it was my favorite scene in the entire episode, wow. The boys discuss it, and as much as they want to help, they have more important things to worry about, am I right Rei? (He just wants to hang with his boyfriend) Makoto in a training suit, give me more please. He ends up seeing how busy the man is, and decides to help him out. So, coach Sasabe has been very busy lately with the Iwatobi club, so he hasn’t had the time to see the boys and discuss any swimming related things with them, so Makoto decides to pass by and show them their prefectural times. Okay so let’s start off with his story line. I’ll talk to you about my favorite parts, and some more theories, cool?įirst off, Makoto is the star of this episode, which had my heart hurting every second because he is a puppy, wow. I don’t know, this episode didn’t do a lot for me. I don’t know if having so much Makoto was the best they thing they did but it’s there, and also, a lot of hidden yaoi references here, which I can’t complain so much about, but I can’t say I thoroughly enjoyed it. (If this ends up going up late, I’m so sorry! What a hectic day with doctor appointments and classes, how dull!) We got a lot of Makoto in this episode, and we’re introduced to a character who comes from High Speed!!, the light novel this show is based off. How was this episode? I wouldn’t necessarily say this was the best episode, but it included some subtle references, great characterization, and tension for the next episode. as a basis, but mostly, what I think of various media products.I feel sick knowing that we have five more episodes until this show is done. This blog will be about my thoughts on various things.Įvery so often there'll be an in-depth analysis of something using a specific book/movie/etc.
